Martha Reed Harris II graduated with honors with a Culinary Certification from Carroll County Career Vocational School on May 29, 2008. She also received her high school diploma from Winters Mill High School with honors at a graduation ceremony held at McDaniel College on June 6, 2008. She received acknowledgements and a plaque for her commitment to community service and outreach; she only missed one day and was never late in four years of high school. Martha received an award for having over 1300 community service hours, and received an Unsung Hero Award. She was also chosen one of three students in the county to receive the NAACP Educational Award.

Martha was recruited by Towson University, Harvard, McDaniel, Spelman, Carroll Community, La Verne University, Oakwood University, and Columbia Union College to name a few. Martha has decided to go to Columbia Union College to pursue a degree in Music Education with a minor in Spanish. CUC has granted her a scholarship to assist her in further study of her passion, the saxophone. She plans to attend the summer session, July 21, 2008 – August 7, 2008. Her greatest regret is she will miss helping out with Vacation Bible School.

Please keep Martha and the school in your prayers. Thank God and you, church family for all that you have provided to bring her to this place in her life.  Forever grateful, Darcel
