News & Announcements
05
It was announced as an innocent “Summer Brunch” but planned as a double surprise for two mothers-to-be. A little baby boy named Ethan Parker Simantel arrived July 8 and surprised his parents, Mandy & Shane, AND the whole party at Westminster SDA Church! Fortunately, Baby Ethan got out of the hospital in time to attend with his Mom & Dad behind the nursery window, so all could meet him and show off his wonderful gifts.

On the baby girl side of the fellowship hall, Liz and Abe Sendros received lots of help from big sister Sarah in opening pretty pink outfits for their baby expected to arrive the end of August.

Under the fun-loving care of Cheryl Smith, every other table was decorated in boy or girl theme with animals lounging on blankets surrounded by miniature diaper pins, pacifiers, bottles and rattles. Garlands of pink & white daisies gracefully looped over the gift opening area, giving it a garden air.

Men were willing to suffer through the games of baby bingo, drawing baby on top of their head, smelling dirty diapers (with melted candy inside!), and guessing the number of M&M’s in the bottle, in order to eat the sumptuous breakfast that was served! With Nancy Thomas making out the menu and Claudia, Sara, Janet and Carol helping, who can go wrong?! There were platters of colorful fruits, bagels & muffins, vege meats, pancakes, potatoes, and eggs.

Most importantly, these families were surrounded with love and support by our church family. Now that’s a very important ingredient for any growing child of God!
