News & Announcements

The morning was chilly but hearts were warmed as children of all ages gathered together on Sabbath morning, November 22, for HISspace children’s church.  The theme for the day was using our talents for the Lord, specifically talking about music.  What better way to start then with a song service led out by Jan Wall and finished with Amazing Grace sung by Dominique Wilson.

Following song service, Michelle Sipes led the children in a rousing Bible game where two teams raced to find answers to Bible questions and had to be the first to run to the front with their answers.  Both teams with their team leaders, Brooke Barbour and Ian Durant, did a great job, but Ian’s team ended the game with a one point win.

A talented group of puppeteers further entertained and educated the children about the music that we choose to listen.  How do we know what kind of music we should listen to?  Philippians 4:8 says “finally brethren whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, or of good report, if there be any virtue and there be any praise, think on these things.”

Pastor Jonathan Tejel continued the theme of music with his sermon.  He pointed out that God is the creator of music and he created music so we could learn of Him and praise Him.  Satan also uses music to pull us apart from Jesus but it is up to each of us to decide who is going to influence us by the music we choose to listen to.  Music should be used to praise God above all else.
