Crest Lane Home & School held its first ever Fall Festival fundraising event on the evening of Saturday, November 2nd at Crest Lane School.  What a wonderful evening of fellowship and fun it was for the non-church members and church members who attended!  For those who were unable to attend, the evening began at 6 p.m. with a mouth watering, yummy-for-your-tummy dinner served by Michele Sipes and friends.  Following prayer at 7 p.m., Cristal Tyler began the evenings' festivities by sharing why we as Christians have so much to be thankful for and told a pumpkin story by using a pumpkin demonstration.  During this demonstration Cristal cleaned, carved and placed a candle inside the pumpkin describing how our lives as Christians are similar to a pumpkin.  First we have to clean ourselves up on the outside and allow God into our hearts.  Then God works on cleaning up the inside by removing the entire gunk from within.  God then starts carving us into the Christians we need to be and fills us with His light until we shine for him.  Cristal would like to thank Cheryl Smith for sharing that lovely pumpkin story with her.

Throughout the evening, children enjoyed crafts, a Chadder movie, and games from Group Publishing that included Fizz's Beaker Basketball, Sparki's Glow Throw, Electra's Electric Balloon Hop, Bobbing for Apples, Goop Scoop for coins, Montro Bubble, Whiz Bang Ball Drop, and Gloss Toss just to name a few. This was followed by a cake walk in which the 8th graders raised $175 towards their 8th grade class trip. What a joy it was watching everyone, young and old, enjoying Christian fellowship beside the added benefit of raising $300 total for Home & School!  We can't wait for next years' Fall Festival!
