The elegant lady, Lorraine Hunt, balancing an accordion on her lap admitted to being 75, but her voice was strong and rich as she blended with her daughter’s family, Jan, Tybee and Pastor Steve.   The sanctuary was never fuller for more famous vespers guests. “Music Meditations” started with “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” which always started any program the Hunt family use to share in various New York home state churches and surrounding areas.

Mother and daughter, Lorraine and Jan, blended voices beautifully on several golden oldies such as “Just A Closer Walk,” “Do You Know He Loves You?” and “Greetin’ Him With A Song.” Pastor Steve joined the duet to make a mellow trio while Tybee was added to her Mom and Dad to make a two generation trio, “Jesus What a Savior You Are” and “Give Them All to Jesus.”

Lorraine and her husband sang for 14 years in a gospel group in New York. Group member Fern Robinson became Lorraine’s best friend through the years. This concert was dedicated to her memory.

“May the Good Lord Bless You and Keep You” was the traditional closing blessing sung by Lorraine’s gospel group and closed a very special inspirational vesper hour. Everyone left with a prayer and renewed spirit for the upcoming week.
