On March 20, WSDA enjoyed a combined meal, Vespers, and Talent, No Talent Social. Blessings were received. 49 were counted in attendance.
Vespers was led by Paul Hutchins, who brought music and thoughtful devotional thoughts. Paul always brings inspiration to our hearts.
The food was delicious and nutritious, consisting of vege hotdogs and all the fixings, and kept disappearing throughout the evening!
Talent/No Talent was emcee’d by Harold Greene and Howard Karst. Their jokes folders revealed deep research efforts. Performances included music by JGFQ, Judy Norwood and Debby Stroup, 3AM, Howard Karst’s accordion, Claudia Montgomery, Steve and Jan Wall, and a reading by Shirley Marsh. Tom Smith (with assistants Christine Greene and Andee Johnson) won the over-all prize (and hysterical laughter, mostly his own) for his demand performance of "Illusionist's Tricks." Ted and Sandy Knight traveled a distance to bring multiple musical numbers.
Thanks to all for coming to our March social, for helping to set-up, decorate, video and film, performance, serve our delicious food, and cleanup which took only ½ hour thanks to the teamwork. There are enough hot dog buns for our hayride as well as a couple of cans of veggie dogs.
If anyone hasn't the time to prepare or buy items for our social events, you may donate by marking the tithe & offering envelope “Social Committee Fund.” This helps us to have enough food and to have beautiful decorations. When we purchase decorations with Social Fund monies, they are used as often as a theme arises.
Thanks to Paul Hutchins for his lovely comment about the Social. Mona and Howard were our dedicated decorators, but many helped. "Many Hands Make Work Lighter." When Jesus reigns in our hearts, the burdens are lighter and everyone seems to be so happy!
