News & Announcements

On Sabbath, October 25th, Robert Zentz, who lives at Fairhaven in Sykesville, celebrated his 91st birthday.  Since he cannot attend church, a few of us visited him.  Ed Bowen played hymns on his saxophone while Dr. Marsh accompanied him on the piano.  The electricity was off, so Bob Ellis lit the music by flashlight.  The rest of us, along with some other residents and nursing personnel, sang along or just listened. They called it “The Saturday Afternoon Hymn Sing.”  Those couple hours were very special to all involved.
