The January HisSpace worship service started by kids helping Mrs. Wall with the song service, and gathering the offering which was for the worthy student fund and Haiti disaster relief. The kids took part in a “sword drill,” racing to find a given Bible test, proving they could get around their Bibles pretty quickly.

A play was performed on the theme of the day, Gossip.  Two girls happen to see a schoolmate near a liquor store and immediately jump to conclusions. Actually the boy was on an errand to help somebody and was doing God’s work.

Pastor Jonathan Tejel talked further on the topic of gossip but first he entertained the kids with a short film clip called, “For the Birds.” The birds were all laughing and gossiping about this one bird because he was different.  The kids loved the film so much that Pastor Tejel played it again at the end of his sermon.  Pastor Tejel told the kids that we go to church and school to find Jesus, not to see what others are doing.  The Bible says, “Do not judge or you too will be judged.” Matthew 7:1.  But what should we do about gossip?

1. If you catch yourself gossiping- STOP.
2. Check out the facts.
3. Do unto others as you want them to do unto you.

Use your words to help and encourage people, not to spread the latest “news”.
