It’s a new position in our church: Parish Nurse. They say the name has been changed to Faith Community Nursing, but I like the good old name. It says, “I want to take care of my church.” There is an 8-page job description, a 6-day class that would have cost the church over $800, but per usual, I’m doing my own thing! I have 35 years of experience as an RN working with physicians in their offices and on medical and rehab floors. I have taught RN students and nursing assistants. I can help you in two major ways: as a resource for health information and personal attention.
There are monthly health tips that will get posted on the bulletin board. Any CDC warnings will be brought to your attention and prevention of disease will continue to be my highest priority. If you want info on any “How to…” articles, I probably have it in my file or can easily find it.
If you need or want a visit, whether you are in the hospital or not, contact me by e-mail or my cell phone. (I have to warn you, it gets turned off at night-I’m not getting any younger!) If you need assistance to get to your doctor’s visits, I will help you. I am the church’s nurse, dedicating myself this year to assisting you in your health and welfare: Andee Johnson, RN, cell #240-328-3672 ajrn@comcast.net
