News & Announcements
08

The November 22, 2009, Amateur Night at the Carroll County Art Council Theater in Westminster, Maryland was a great success. There were 14 contestants. Songs ranged from Country & Western, to Rhythm & Blues, Gospel and the Classics of Bach. We were mesmerized by the two Robertson sister’s who took us on a country hoedown with a rendition of “Millionaire’s Hoedown” and her sister, who just started piano lessons a year ago, playing “Fur Elise.” The MC’s, Martha and Domonique said, “They are prodigies.”

Another amazing detail about that night was we had a chance to vote on the funnies commercial. The Ally Truck Commercial won. (look it up on Youtube.com) There were two first place winners (both could sing wonderfully), one was a 13-year old and the other was a 21-year old. But let me tell you, they are both going places. The third place winner sang her favorite Karaoke song, “Broken Wing.” The turnout was wonderful; we were able to hand out the “Signs of Hope” to many families we would not otherwise have met. Praise God for all forms of outreach.  The GROW Team
