November 14 was Health Emphasis Sabbath and WSDA was especially privileged to have for our worship hour Katia Reinert, (RN, MSN, FNP, FCN) a Family Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Katia has special training in depression treatment and the integration of faith and health.

She has served in the nursing profession at Washington Adventist Hospital over 13 years as a critical care nurse, occupational health nurse practitioner, and currently serves as a Faith Community Nursing (FCN) coordinator and Health Ministry Clinical Supervisor for Adventist HealthCare (AHC). In that role she is involved in medical-religious partnerships as she mentors, coordinates and teaches the Faith Community Nursing and Health Ministry Team Building trainings for nurses and lay ministers.

Ms Reinert has a special interest in Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine, as well as in the treatment of depression. She is frequently asked to do presentations on faith, health, or depression for women’s groups and envisions churches being centers for healing and wholeness. Members found her to be friendly, personable, helpful and balanced.
