This month our field trip was to Maize Quest. The theme was Western as parents and students wandered through the maze looking for clues. After a bag lunch the students loaded up on the tractor for a tour of the orchard. The first stop was the pumpkin field where students were told they could have any pumpkin as long as they could carry it; then on to the apple orchard to pick the ripe, juicy fruit.
Week of Prayer theme for this week was missionaries, connecting with our project for Maluti. Andee Johnson told missionary experiences and places she has visited. She shared books, costumes, money, and culture with us. Tuesday, Nancy Thomas was preempted by a deer and rescheduled. Wednesday Pastor Steve had morning chapel for the students. Thursday Cheryl Smith talked about missionary trips and how people are changed by them, sharing several of her trips, including one to Maluti. She challenged students to give of their time to someone in need. Jonaton Tejel shared experiences in three different places with items of interest from each. Some well behaved students got to take home authentic African bowls and spoons. Thanks to all who volunteered to speak to the students. The Lord continues to work on the hearts of our young people.
