“Attention, Forward, March.” The Adventurers and Eager Beavers smartly marched into the sanctuary with flags waving and bright grins and recited pledges to the U.S. and Christian flags, and to the Bible. They recited the Adventurer Law, which are great principles for ALL. They sang “Father Abraham” including all the arm and leg motions led out by Mrs. Mandi. Parents lit candles, dedicating their children as a light to the world while Darcel Harris said a Dedication Prayer.
Adventurer Mackenzie Chavious read the scripture and Cameron and Matthew helped the deacons take up the offering. Cheryl Smith gave a special message entitled “W I I F M.” Who can still remember what those letters stood for? Be interested in the other person. (Phil. 2:4) Share what you have. (James 2:14-17) The rich young ruler couldn’t give up his possessions to follow Jesus. (Matt 19:16-24) What happened to WWJD?
What’s In It For Me? WIIFM? That appears to be the radio station everyone is tuning into today. “Step out beyond these walls and let God permeate our lives and touch us with love.” The Adventures then marched out and greeted members at the door.
